Domestic heat pumps work most efficiently in
dwellings with low heat losses via: building envelope (floor, walls, roofs,
windows, doors) and unnecessary ventilation such drafts. Therefore, if you
consider replacing your existing boiler or electric storage heating for a heat
pump system, your house must be first assessed by a technical advisor in terms
of its heat losses. In case the level of
heat loss is not sufficiently low, you will be advised on possible measures
that can be undertaken to limit the heat loss through your building fabrics,
thus enabling installation of a heat pump. These measures could be for
instance: cavity insulation, external wall insulation, attic insulation or
limiting window drafts. They will be presented in a technical assessment report
and accompanied with guidance on cost and grants available. For more information or get quotation for the assessment please contact us.
